Paan Paan - Ifthar Packs

Written by Zainab Faizal • Written 8 months ago

Paan Paan has never failed to satisfy and surprise us with their fabulous Grill restuarant to the incredible baked goodies from their artisan breads, savories and sweets! Having visited their Grill restaurant and being an avid fan of their eclairs, I was delighted to hear that they've got something super special happening this Ramadan.

Paan Paan offers exclusive ifthar packs this month, starting from Rs. 350/- onwards with a huge variety to run your fingers across before you make your final pack or platter. YES! You can also make your giant platters, customised to your own requirements from savories, sweet deals and their million dollar worthy sandwiches, subs and wraps!

These platters are a great option when you want to break your fast at office with a crowd or take away for your family gatherings, where you don't need to slave away in the kitchen and focus on doing good in the Holy month of Ramadan.

Here are the three options I tried out; Each option has three savories, one dessert, three dates, and 350g kanji made with broken wheat.

Option 1

Chinese Chicken Roll

The rolls were neatly rolled out in bread crumbs and the pancake like texture inside was smooth and super soft, that you didn't have to make a fuss to bite or break into it. The filling was equally satisfying, with lots of shredded chicken packed with flavour and a potato filling along with it giving you a fresh and exciting spice to the whole experience.

Punjabi Samosa

Having tried Punjabi samosas in most vegetarian restaurants, this one makes to the list of the best ones I've tried so far. The samosa wasn't over fried, which means it was a perfect golden brown and wasn't hard or tough to break into meaning it was fresh! I adored the fact that the samosa outer layer tasted as amazing as the goodness inside. For all those who want a calm item when you break your fast, I'd suggest you grab this to your pack - with a super yummy filing of slightly Indian spiced potatoes and mushed green peas. Yum!

Baked Tuna Patty

Once again another fabulous item, with a shiny golden base and the right soft crunch when you know it's baked - which makes it quite healthy too! The tuna filling was with fresh tuna, mixed in with potatoes and pepper. Absolutely in love with how they simply incorporate simple key ingredients that make the item delicious.

Chocolate Eclairs

Oh my, this is nothing but a mouthful of sin for the immense pleasure you receive from these AMAZING eclairs! The gorgeous chocolate ganache on top of the fluffy eclairs and the smooth as your Halal pick up line chocolate filling, that'll make you want to D'eclair your love ASAP. (But it's Ramadan)

Option 2

Fish bun

You won't find fish buns THIS SOFT and FLUFFY! The filling consists of fresh thalapath fish along with potatoes and the basic spices making it the yummiest fish buns in town!

Potato Patty

When you miss being a potato you stuff yourself with potatoes. This potato patty would be something the kids would thoroughly enjoy, for its calm filling and bursting with flavour.

Chinese Fish Roll

As usual the rolls are like fire! *insert fire emoticon* with a pretty fresh fish filling, this was slightly spicer than the chicken filling.

Chocolate Eclair

Oh my, this is nothing but a mouthful of sin for the immense pleasure you receive from these AMAZING eclairs! The gorgeous chocolate ganache on top of the fluffy eclairs and the smooth as your Halal pick up line chocolate filling, that'll make you want to D'eclair your love ASAP. (But it's Ramadan)

Option 3

Vegetable Puff

Last time I had a puff pastry, half of it is either crumbled onto my plate, my dress, the table and the take out bag. Only air and the filling gets into my stomach. (So sad)

This one is one the most filling puffs I've had! It looked too pretty to eat, with the lovely layers of puff and the soft vegetable filling which had it's decent share of carrots and potato.

Chicken Bun

Soft and fluffy chicken buns are what we live for! (No of course not, who am I trying to kid). The bun had a decent shredded chicken filling, that you're bound to like.

Chinese Chicken Roll

The rolls were neatly rolled out in bread crumbs and the pancake like texture inside was smooth and super soft, that you didn't have to make a fuss to bite or break into it. The filling was equally satisfying, with lots of shredded chicken packed with flavour and a potato filling along with it giving you a fresh and exciting spice to the whole experience

Coffee Eclair

If the chocolate one made you go crazy, then wait until you tried the coffee eclair. I'm talking about a coffee shot that melts the moment you pop it into your mouth! SO SO GOOD!

Kanji

The porridge is healthy with the broken wheat and yet so delicious. In love with the masala infused, caramelized onions and garlic infused with the shredded chicken making it UH MAZING. You're gonna LOVE this!

Packaging

The packaging is super convenient, which means you don't have to worry if it'll spill or be a complete mess. As you can see for yourself it's very reliable and perfect for the go.

Conclusion

If I was you, I'd call up Paan Paan and grab me some ifthar packs! They are definitely worth the price and is the perfect alternative when you want a break from being the AMAZING domestic goddess you are. (Note the sarcasm)

PS: Do note that The Grill is opened until midnight for the month of Ramadan, and Paan Paan will introduce Tharaweeh platters which is perfect for right after those 20 rakats, and when you don't have to worry about the suhoor meal!
