Breaking the stereotype of your usual home-bakers, we’ve sought out one the few home-cooks in this country and she goes by the name of Hungry Monkey – assumingly inspired by her customers who approach her! She served up some dishes that will make you want to reconsider your wedding caterer!

Note: Each of these dishes could easily feed two people; and if you’re single, you can eat it all yourself or save some for the next day #perksofbeingsingle

Quinoa with Chicken & Mushroom | Rs.1050

This flavoursome, well cooked quinoa along with perfectly seasoned, tender chicken breasts could pretty much sum up your protein intake for the day! The mushroom played a definitive role and gave the whole dish a lovely smokey flavour. I was very impressed by this because not only was it delicious, it was super healthy too!

Prawn Paella | Rs.1100

Definitely a bold move with this one; this traditional Spanish dish could either go terribly wrong or perfect! Was a little disappointed when I realised the chorizo had been substituted with prawn because traditional paella includes the famous Spanish sausage, which brings together the entire dish. Aside from that, the flavours were there; the risotto was a little undercooked but was still full of flavoursome saffron. (Chorizo is available at ‘Food For Thought @ HOW’)

Penne Chicken Pesto | Rs.800

If this dish doesn’t scream pesto, then I don’t know what does! From the moment you lay eyes on this, you know you’re getting EXACTLY what you asked for! Although the pesto seasoning seemed slightly overwhelming, I can safely say that it was perfect! The pasta was not over cooked, the chicken was not chewy and hard, and the pesto seasoning was on point! 10/10 for this one!

Creamy Tomato and Basil Spaghetti Pasta (Vegan) | Rs.900

You know your spaghetti is good when you can slurp it up like the doggos in Lady and the Tramp! You would think that this dish is slightly heavy when you see the word ‘creamy’ in the title but fear not my foodie folk, the tomato and basil kick in with a lovely refreshing flavour which balanced out the dish entirely. (phew!!)

Each dish came wonderfully presented in a convenient round aluminium container that is perfect to grab and go!

2-3 days in advance and they will deliver to your doorstep!

We seriously think you should reconsider your wedding caterer with Hungry Monkey coming along with her creative dishes! We only tried 4 out of MANY and we cannot wait to order again!
